They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but the Food For All program in Kalona is out to prove that saying wrong. This is the third year of the Kalona Summer Lunch program, and it’s kicking off with something new this year. On Monday, June 13th, they will be hosting an ice cream social fundraiser, in addition to the first day of lunch. That event will run from noon until 2 p.m., and will feature a variety of activities for all ages.

Another new feature for this year’s program is the addition of an incentive program. Each time a guest visits or brings a friend, they’ll receive a ticket they can use to enter to win various prizes. The summer lunch program will run the entire summer on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from noon until 2 p.m. at the Kalona Methodist Church, and it’s free to anyone attending. An informational and volunteer meeting will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
