Keota schools are getting a new superintendent starting July 1st. The sharing agreement between Keota and Mid-Prairie schools was not renewed, so Mark Schneider will return to being solely the Mid-Prairie superintendent after seven years of serving both districts. Schneider said by being the Keota superintendent, it had caused division in the community and staff so his hope is now they can come together and do what’s best for student learning.

Dennis Phelps, who had been shared between Tri-County and Pekin school districts, will now be the shared superintendent between Tri-County and Keota. The Pekin school district will now share a superintendent with Sigourney.
