The Keota School Board met last Thursday, and several things were discussed. Keota currently has sharing agreements with Sigourney and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont for Transportation Director and Music respectively, and those agreements were renewed for the coming school year. They also discussed a recently vacated position. Superintendent Mark Schneider said elementary principal and curriculum director Beth McBride has resigned her position, and the board discussed their next course of action. While no final decision has been made regarding the position, they did agree to advertise the job opening.

Additionally, the board discussed the vacant high school Spanish teaching position, and they discussed whether that should be a full-time or half-time position, though no decision was made. Finally, the board discussed proposals for the Washington County Riverboat Foundation’s mini-grant awards and approved grant submissions for two projects that cost less than $2,000.
