The second year of Kirkwood for Kids in Washington begins today. Students have a chance to take a variety of classes from Pet Vet to Cooking Counts, and Ghostly Stories or Graphic Design. The five-day program is for first through eighth grade students. The classes are instructed by some area teachers and professors. Tera Pickens, Director of the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center, adds the older students get a chance to use the facilities’ lab space and equipment, including welders. A bonus of the program is free transportation is provided throughout the county so students in outlying districts can participate.
