The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team scored a dramatic River Valley Conference win Tuesday night in Kalona, knocking off the Lady Rebels of Northeast Goose Lake 9-6.

The Hawks took an early lead with a tally in the first only to see Gooselake score three in the third and three more in the sixth to build a 6-1 cushion. The Mid-Prairie comeback began in the bottom of the sixth when the Hawks scored three times to get within 6-4. Still trailing going to their final at bat Mid-Prairie had the heart of the order due up and was able to load the bases ahead of slugger Amber Kral. The Hawks loaded the bases for Kral and she cashed in, smacking a walk off grand slam for the three run win. Kral led Mid-Prairie with a four for five night at the plate and six RBI. Cassidy Rourke got the win in circle, she went all seven, gave up 10 hits, six runs, and walked four. With the win Mid-Prairie is now 5-9 on the season.
