This has been a record-setting year for attendance at Marr Park. Washington County Conservation Director Steve Anderson says according to camping reservations, shelter use, and observation, the park has seen more people than it ever has. As far as why it’s been so successful, he said it’s a combination of the good weather and that their programs and services have grown. He added Marr Park continues to be developed, saying, “If you build it, they will come is coming true.”

Marr Park offers many public programs that are bringing people in, but Anderson added more than anything they facilitate a large amount of community events. He feels confident the attendance will remain high the rest of the summer, though he realizes factors including weather can affect that.
