The postseason accolades continue to accumulate for Washington Demon golfers Sarah Nacos and Deanna Peiffer. The Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association has announced the members of the 2016 All-District Girls Golf Team and Nacos and Peiffer were named to the Class 4A District 4 team. The pair was also selected to the All-Iowa Girls Golf Team last month.

Nacos is the two-time Class 4A state girls golf champion. She earned medalist honors during the regional final tournament at Oakland Acres Golf Course in Grinnell with a low score of 75. The following week at state, Nacos topped the field with a two-day score of 12 over 154. She won the tournament by nine strokes over Fairfield senior Lindsey Repp.

Peiffer concluded her high school golf career with a top five finish in the Class 4A state golf tournament. Her 36-hole score of 13 over 170 was tied for the fourth best score in the field. Peiffer finished her career as the Southeast Conference’s best golfer, earning medalist honors during the league tournament with a score of five over 70 at the Washington Golf and Country Club on May 10th. Peiffer will continue her golf career in college, signing a letter of intent with the William Penn Statesmen this winter.

Washington captured their second straight Class 4A team title, conquering Ames’ Coldwater Golf Links Course by carding the lowest team score of 715. Southeast Conference rival Fairfield placed second overall, finishing 13 strokes behind the Demons.
