Worst, better and best case scenarios were presented to the Washington County Board of Supervisors at their meeting Tuesday in regards to the reimbursements for services for Washington County Public Health and Medicaid Modernization. Peggy Wood, Washington County Public Health fiscal administrator, explained they currently have $51,000 outstanding from April and May services from the three managed care organizations. The fiscal year ends next Thursday, June 30th, and the worst case scenario the department will have a $43,000 shortfall, with a better case scenario being a $39,000 shortfall and the best scenario being an $8,000 shortfall. Wood explained there is a delay on some reimbursements so money will likely come in after the fiscal year ends.

Supervisor Jack Seward, who also sits on the Board of Health, praised the department for “taking the bull by the horns” and doing the best they can with the situation.

Medicaid was moved to three managed care organizations on April 1st across the state.
