Jared Schneider

Washington County’s chief deputy secured the Republican nomination for sheriff in the primary. Jared Schneider won with 59.5% of the vote over Kirk Bailey (28.13%) and Ken Miller (12.41%). Schneider tells KCII News it was nerve-wracking waiting for results Tuesday night after the polls closed at 9 p.m. and he slowly saw the lead grow and became more comfortable with the results.

As he looks forward past the general election, he wants to improve the jail roof and continue to improve the department’s mental health efforts from the jail transition program to officer training for crisis intervention situations.
