West Burlington used a big second inning Thursday night to power past the Iowa Mennonite baseball team 21-0 in four innings in Kalona.

In a game heard on AM and FM KCII, the Falcons got out to a 2-0 lead in the first on a pair of fielder’s choice ground outs. In the second the Falcons sent 18 men to the plate, scored 15 times in the frame on five total hits, two of which were home runs. On top 17-0, West Burlington scored four more times in the third to finish the game early.

Isaiah Swantz took the loss for IMS he went one inning, gave up two hits, 10 runs, walked seven and struck out one. At the plate Jacob Schmeider had a pair of hits and Reggie Borntrager added a double. With the loss IMS is now 3-3 on the year.
