The average maximum temperature is usually 81.3 degrees, but in the first 26 days of the month it was 86.9 degrees. The record high average maximum temperature for Washington was set in 1933 at 93.5 degrees. This month the overall average temperature has been 3.8 degrees above normal at 73.9 degrees.
Also, precipitation has been less than half the normal amount. Washington has observed 1.85 inches of rain while 4.23 inches is normal.
