Firefighters from four area departments responded to a two-story house fire near Washington Wednsday afternoon. The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at 2060 250th Street, west of Greiner Buildings along Old Highway 92. The fire was about two miles west of Washington. From the site of the fire KCII News reported seeing flames and black smoke billowing out of the house. Members of Washington, Brighton, Keota and Wellman Fire Departments worked to extinguish the flames. Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Ambulance, and Alliant Energy were also at the scene. No injuries were reported.
