A Keota senior is seeing vast improvement in his offensive output for the Eagles’ baseball team (5-5 overall) this season. Tyler Verstrate collected seven hits in 43 at bats during his junior season, scoring six run and posting a batting average of .143.

Ten games into his senior season and Verstrate leads Keota in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.542), on base percentage (.593), and is tied for the team lead in hits (13), and runs scored (8). His advancement at the plate has led Keota head baseball coach Tanner McClanahan to alternate Verstrate between right field and designated hitter.

The Eagles baseball team brings a 5-5 overall record to the ballpark tonight. They resume their season at home, hosting the Brooklyn-Guernsey-Malcom Bears (11-3 overall).
