Washington County voters cast their ballots in the primary Tuesday, with area Republicans voting in contested races for supervisor, sheriff and House District 78. The Republican nominee for sheriff is Jared Schneider who gathered 1,672 votes or 59%, Kirk Bailey received 791 votes and Ken Miller had 349 votes.

In Supervisor District 4, incumbent Stan Stoops won with 394 votes over Robert Shepherd with 219. In District 2, incumbent Bob Yoder won with 330 votes over challenger Stephanie Schlabaugh, 178.

In House District 78, incumbent Jarad Klein won with 66% of the vote, while Marcus Fedler received 955 votes.
