The 80th Annual Chief Wapello Days are returning this weekend, and organizer Tim Knutson says it’s more than just a rodeo. He said it’s a great way for people to come back together. In fact, it was originally called “Homecoming Days,” and there are still some who call it that. He added people schedule class reunions for the festival because it’s a great way to bring people together. This year will see some new activities, including a virtual reality car driving simulator and an obstacle course-like bouncy house for kids. The forecast is for clear skies, so Knutson is hoping for a large turn-out. Chief Wapello Days start Friday night with the rodeo, and conclude Sunday with the disc golf tournament.
