Hot and humid conditions will continue through to Saturday evening and an excessive heat warning is in effect. Thursday the high temperature rose to 91 degrees, with a low of 75 degrees. According to the National Weather Service, in the first three weeks of July the average temperature is usually 74.4 degrees, but it has been observed at 72.1 degrees. Precipitation is above normal with 4.84 inches of rain recorded, above the normal 3.11 inches.

In the first six hours of the day Friday, Washington received just over an inch of rain with thunderstorms rolling across the area.
