The 80th Annual Chief Wapello Days was a success according to organizer Tim Knutson, and he feels it was largely thanks to the weather. He said the weather the whole weekend was wonderful, and it made people want to stay longer to enjoy it. He estimated they had between 950 and 1,100 people in attendance, marking a noticeable increase from the past two years when the weather wasn’t as ideal. Knutson also felt the bounce houses and train rides were more popular than in years past. Normally children stop around 1:30 p.m., but he said this year they were bouncing and riding until 3 p.m. when the vendors came to take them down.
