The Highland School District recently found itself without a librarian, so the school district entered into a sharing agreement with Lone Tree. Their previous full-time librarian was shared with Danville schools 20% of the time. Superintendent Chris Armstrong said as they were looking to make budget adjustments, the librarian position was one they were going to examine. As it turned out, the librarian resigned and moved to another school, so Highland saw it as an opportunity to make changes. Armstrong says the school board decided it was in the district’s best interest to share with another school, and they came to an agreement with Lone Tree to share their librarian, Stephanie Callan.
