Radar images provided by AccuWeather Thursday morning show strong storms across Iowa.

The KCII Severe Weather Action Team responded to a severe thunderstorm warning Thursday morning. The warning was issued by the National Weather Service at 6:15 a.m. and ended at 7 a.m. for southern Washington County, Jefferson County, northwestern Henry County and southeastern Keokuk County. Trained weather spotters reported lightning and precipitation in the Wellman and West Chester areas. KCII staff also brought live reports with WeatherEye meteorologists. Thursday, Washington received 0.22 inches of rain.

The KCII Severe Weather Action Team stood by with emergency generators, so that had the power gone off, KCII would still be on air to bring live coverage of the storms.
