The Keota City Council will be meeting Monday to discuss a resolution calling for a vote in the November general election for a local option sales tax. The vote would reestablish the one percent sales tax, which could be used for any lawful purpose by the city. They plan to approve a revenue purpose statement for the tax at the meeting as well. Other topics for the meeting include the appointment of a liaison to the museum board, approval of a contract for the Community Development Block Grant program, and a review of the museum by-laws. The public meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the Keota City Hall.
