Do you know what congenital disorder of glycosylation, or CDG, is? Many people don’t, and a local couple is trying to raise awareness of the disease their two-year-old daughter Everlee was diagnosed with. Her father, Jonathan Vittetoe explains CDG-1A is a rare genetic disorder that has to do with how sugars attach to proteins at a cellular level. Those who have it often have aspects of their body that don’t develop normally, like a small cerebellum and decreased muscle tone. The rare disease affects about 1500 people worldwide.

The benefit will be held at Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl in Washington on Saturday and there will be live music and a silent auction. The funds raised will primarily go to research for CDG in the United States.
