Area youth in kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to take part in an activity that promotes self improvement in a positive and relaxing environment that is non-competitive with free yoga sessions. Washington County 4-H, as part of its healthy living priority, is offering the basics of yoga classes taught by a 4-H alum. Sarah Greiner teaches students basic yoga positions to work on breathing, balance, and relaxation.

Students who have finished kindergarten through third grade meet from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and youth in fourth through 12th grade follow from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. at the Washington Public Library every Thursday in July. The classes are open to all youth, students who aren’t 4-H members are asked to arrive early to complete paperwork and it’s recommended to bring a bottle of water and mat or towel.

According to Washington County 4-H, “yoga promotes physical and mental health while strengthening the mind-body connection.” Namaste.
