RAGBRAI has passed through 780 Iowa towns since 1973 when it began and Friday night Washington hosted the thousands of cyclists for the annual bike ride. KCII’s Big Red Radio joined in the festivities on the square Friday with a live broadcast. The square had food stands, clothing vendors, non-profits and four stages with live entertainment. Cars with license plates from across the country could be seen around town from Arkansas to Coloardo.
One pair, an aunt and niece, came from New York state to Iowa for the first time for the event and Amy Marsh and Cindy Koziatek shared Iowans were welcoming and it was a great experience going through the small towns. They added it was a great experience and they recommend it.
