Heavy rain, wind and strong thunderstorms are in the forecast for Washington through Wednesday evening. Early Tuesday morning, at 2:55 a.m., wind gusts were recorded at 36 miles per hour at the Washington Municipal Airport. In the first six hours of the morning Tuesday, Washington observed a quarter of an inch of rain. According to the National Weather Service, this July Washington is off to a wet start with 2.4 inches of precipitation observed in the first 11 days, above the normal 1.75 inches.
