The Washington County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved having an inspector on site while a company works on a pipeline in the county. Work commenced this week on the pipeline that carries hazardous liquid gas from the intersection of Wayland Road and 275th Street up to Highway 92. The company is replacing existing sections of the pipeline.

The approved inspector is from ISG of Des Moines and is able to be there under Iowa Code to ensure nothing is done to harm the agricultural land, specifically the soil and drainage tile. The cost is covered by the pipeline company.

The supervisors had initially been given the contract last Tuesday prior to their meeting but elected to table the item so they could review the documents and confer with the county attorney.
