Two people were injured in a car vs. semi collision on Wayland Road Wednesday night. According to the Washington County Communications department at 9:28 p.m., a semi loaded with hogs and a car collided at 320th Street and Wayland Road, causing the semi to roll onto its side, with hogs getting loose. One person was trapped in the wreck.

Jayzinne Ellard of St. Paul was driving the car and was transported to Washington County Hospital and Clinics, while her passenger Mercedes Ellard was transported to the University of Iowa hospital. The driver of the Walker livestock semi, Randolph Keller of Albia, was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Both vehicles were totaled.

Washington County Ambulance, Washington Rescue, Washington Fire Department and Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded to the scene.
