There were no injuries incurred at a house fire on 265th Street Friday morning, southwest of Washington. At about 7 a.m. Friday, emergency responders received a call of a fully-engulfed house. Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar tells KCII News that no one was in the house at the time of the fire and it is not believed to have any connection to other fires that have recently occurred in the area.

Fire departments from Brighton, Keota and Washington, as well as the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Keota EMS, Alliant Energy, and Washington and Keokuk County Emergency Management responded to the scene. The fire was on 265th Street, a deadend road off of Elm Avenue, south of the Dublin Store.
