The final game of the regular season for the Washington Demon baseball team (17-13 overall) took place Tuesday night in Solon. The Demons made their first of two trips to Solon High School this week for a single non-conference game versus the Spartans (18-17 overall). Five fielding errors by the Demons assisted the Spartans to an 11-1 victory in five innings.

Washington’s lone run came off the bat of junior Zach Londberg, who went two-for-two at the plate with an RBI double in the fifth. Junior Tanner Coleman took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs, two earned, on four hits, walking one.

Solon senior John Kessler plated four runs while sophomore Tyler Linderbaum drove in two runs and scored two others to pace the Spartans offensively.

The victory improves Solon to 18-17 overall, while the loss drops Washington to 17-13. The two teams will meet again tomorrow in the semifinal round of the Class 3A District 9 tournament.
