The final game of the regular season for the Washington Demon baseball team (15-12 overall) will feature their postseason opponent. The Demons will travel to Solon tonight for a non-conference clash versus the Spartans (17-17 overall). The two teams will meet again Friday in Solon for a Class 3A Substate 5 District 9 semifinal matchup.

A similar scenario happened to these teams in 2014 when Washington and Solon met twice in six days. Solon cruised to a 21-2 victory in the regular season meeting before ending the Demons season, 7-5 in the district game. The Spartans have won the last five meetings against the Demons dating back to the 2011 season.

The Demons hosted the Center Point-Urbana Stormin Pointers (8-29 overall) last night in their final set of games at Dick Sojka Memorial Field this season. Washington swept Center Point-Urbana, winning game one, 5-1 and game two, 10-4. Junior Zach Londberg came up with five hits in the double header, including four doubles and driving in four runs in the victories.

First pitch of tonight’s regular season finale between the Demons and Spartans is set for 7:30 p.m. at Solon High School.
