After getting midway through the first game, last Thursday’s Southeast Conference softball doubleheader between the No. 9 Mount Pleasant Panthers (25-9 overall) and the Washington Demons (11-23 overall) was postponed due to weather. The teams will attempt to complete their league season today when they meet on the diamond in Washington. The games need to be made up to decide who wins the Southeast Conference championship. The Panthers need one win over Washington to capture the league title. The Fairifield Trojans sit in second place in the league standings.

Washington was last on the diamond last night as they traveled to Central Lee for a non-conference tilt versus the Hawks (13-19 overall). The Demons won the game, 14-3.

The postponed game will resume in the bottom of the third inning with two outs and the Panthers leading the Demons, 5-3. Freshman Haylee Wilson will step into the batters box with a 2-2 count.
