Just after midnight this morning, the Jefferson County Law Center received a 911 call reporting that a male subject had pointed a handgun at the caller. The caller and two other people were able to leave the home, which was located at 2089 Libertyville Road in Fairfield. The Jefferson County Sheriff, Fairfield Police, and Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene. Officers set up a perimeter around the home and made repeated attempts to make contact with the man inside. They reported the home had been barricaded from the inside. At approximately 4:30 a.m., law enforcement made forced entry into the residence and located 45-year-old Kelley Robinson, who had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Robinson was transported by ambulance to the hospital, and authorities have not ruled out criminal charges at this time. The incident is under investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
