Two juniors on the Columbus Wildcats softball team continue to earn postseason honors for their play on the diamond this summer. Bailey Stroud and Shaina Boyd, who represented Columbus on the first-team all-conference squad, were named Class 2A All-State honorable mention honors.

Stroud started all 22 games this season at third base for the Wildcats, and posted a team-best .412 batting average. She collected two home runs, nine doubles, seven runs driven in, and scored 20 runs. Stroud recorded a .913 fielding percentage.

Boyd spent time at all three outfield positions this season, starting 19 games in center field. She had a .379 batting average, hit two home runs, drove in 13 runs, posted eight doubles, and scored 16 runs. Boyd had Columbus’ best fielding percentage at .969, with one error in 32 chances.

The Wildcats finish their season at 4-18 overall. Columbus loses Kelli Roush and Kourtney Orr to graduation.
