The Mid-Prairie volleyball team will take the court tonight for the first time in 2016 when they travel to the Keota volleyball tournament.

Due to damage at the Keota High School facility the tournament will be played at English Valleys High School. In 2015, the Golden Hawks went 3-0 in this event, sweeping Highland, Keota and Lone Tree. A season ago, Mid-Prairie finished with a 15-16 overall record.

The Hawks return their top offensive player from last year with Jaedynn Evans tallying 288 kills during the 2015 season. Mid-Prairie’s two assist leaders from a year ago, Clarice Murphy with 348 and Sami Miller with 343 both return for this season. The Golden Hawks return four of their top five defenders from last year, led by Amanda Miller with 268 digs.

Also in attendance at tonight’s Keota tournament are English Valleys, Lone Tree, Tri-County, Keota and Highland. Both gyms will be used for games tonight. Action begins at 4PM at EV High School.
