The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team kicked off the season with a championship, winning the Keota tournament Monday night, hosted at English Valleys High School.

En route to the title, the Hawks swept Keota 25-16 and 25-16, beat Highland 25-16, 21-25 and 16-14, then topped Lone Tree in the championship match, 25-15 and 25-15.

Statistically, the Golden Hawks were led by Jaedynn Evans with 40 kills and 24 digs. Clarice Murphy finished with 45 assists and Amanda Miller had 43 digs. With the sweep Mid-Prairie is now 3-0 on the year. The Golden Hawks will travel to Washington to take on the rival Demons on Thursday night.
