At a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, Lake Darling’s four-season cabins were revealed to the public. Several people spoke to those gathered before the ribbon was cut, including Park Ranger Zach Haworth, Park Manager Andy Roach, Friends of Lake Darling President Jim Dickinson, Dr. Faye Vittetoe, and State Parks Bureau Chief Todd Coffelt. Vittetoe said by doing some simple math, they decided to turn the one-season park into an all-season park, and the cabins are a big part of that. As a single-season park, they generated nearly $2 million a year to economic stimulus. The park as of now, with the inclusion of the cabins, is an $8.5 million asset to the region.

The four-season cabins include a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator and oven, two rooms with queen-sized beds, a full bathroom, and heat and air conditioning. Each cabin accommodates six people comfortably. People can start making reservations for the cabins beginning Friday at noon. For cost and reservation information, call 877-427-2757.
