The good deeds performed on-and-off the court by this year’s Lone Tree Lions volleyball team are being displayed for others to see. Lone Tree co-head volleyball coaches Lora Sieverding and Sondra Prybil have built time into their practices to discuss how they would like each member of the team to conduct themselves on and off the court. To reinforce good behavior, the team has constructed the base of a tree in coach Sieverding’s room. Anytime a player performs a nice deed, the team will post a picture of the gesture to a leaf and outline the tree with good deeds.

The first leaf of the tree includes a picture of a thank you note the senior members of the volleyball team wrote to the hotel cleaning staff after a team camp this summer in Branson, Missouri. Sieverding said the intent is for the tree to be full of leaves by the end of the season.

The Lone Tree Lions’ volleyball team amassed a 16-11 record last season, the most wins for the program in 16 years. The Lions open the 2016 season on August 22, competing in the Keota Volleyball Tournament.
