A special election will be held in Washington next month to fill a seat on the city council but so far nobody has filed papers to be on the ballot. As of noon Monday the Washington County Auditor’s Office had yet to receive nomination petitions for a single candidate. On September 20th the election will be held to fill the vacant council position for Ward 2. Only residents of Ward 2 can fill the seat that was vacated by Russ Zieglowsky. Nomination papers can be picked up at the auditor’s office and must be filed by Friday.
