The deadline to file nomination papers for non-party offices with the Washington County Auditor’s Office is August 31st. The offices in Washington County include terms on the county hospital board, agricultural extension council and soil conservation commission, as well as Brighton and Clay township trustees. These will appear on the November general election ballot. The term on the hospital board is six years, while the others are four years each. Also, anyone who would like to run as an independent for the offices of county auditor, county sheriff or county supervisor in Districts 1, 2, or 4 have until August 31st to file nomination papers. Those interested in running in these offices can get the nomination papers in the county auditor’s office.
