Washington’s High School is 1:1 with laptop computers students take home throughout the school year, but not everyone has internet access at home – that’s where the public library can come in to play. Debbie Stanton, director of the Washington Public Library, explains they have free Wi-Fi access for community members and other resources to help students. She explains they attend the student and parent nights at the schools to help educate parents, students and teachers about the available resources they’re able to provide. Also, the Washington Middle School is 1:1 with Chromebooks and Lincoln Elementary School is nearly 1:1 with Chromebooks, as well.

Stanton adds the library hosts programs for students throughout the year during the early outs. They try to alternate between a craft or game day and movie days with popcorn. Also, the teen clubs and anime club will start meeting again with the beginning of the school year.
