August in Washington is starting out with rain. Nearly two-tenths of an inch of rain fell in Washington Tuesday. More rain is in the forecast through Sunday. Winds remained mostly calm Tuesday at the Washington Municipal Airport, with the strongest gusts recorded at 13 miles per hour at 7:35 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. On Tuesday, a trained weather spotter in Ottumwa reported three inches of precipitation there.
