One Washington County couple was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame at the Iowa State Fair this year. Jim and Louella Schneider of Riverside were given the honor. He grew up in 4-H as part of the Riverside Rambler Club and has served as a club leader since 1976. The pair also had two sons go through the 4-H program in Washington County. In addition, Jim helped start the bucket-bottle calf class in the 90’s and has served as beef superintendent, on the Washington County Extension Council and has been a member of the Washington County Fair Association. Louella was not in 4-H but is described as a “strong supporter of Jim’s in all of his 4-H activities, as well as their sons.”

The Schneiders’ induction to the state hall of fame was announced during the Washington County Fair in July.
