Iowa’s soybeans are ahead of last year by about six days according to the most recent U.S. Department of Agriculture’s crop report for the week that ended July 31st. Across Iowa 90% of soybeans are blooming and 64% are setting pods. Southeast Iowa’s soybean crop is a bit behind the state’s progress with 83% blooming two points behind the five-year average and 41% of the corp is setting pods, seven points behind the five-year average. Iowa’s soybean crop is currently rated at 14% fair, 61% good and 22% excellent.
