The offenses were on display Friday night in Wayland as the Warriors hosted the Twin Cedars Sabers.

Twin Cedars scored a 66-56 win. The Sabers scored first taking the opening kickoff back for a score to go up 8-0. Colton Horak returned the favor for the Warriors on a 78 yard return, after the extra point WACO trailed 8-7. The Sabers scored the next two touchdowns to build a 24-7 lead. Horak scored again, this time on a 1 yard touchdown run to get WACO within 24-14, another Saber touchdown and a WACO safety from Colton Wilson left the score at 32-16 after one quarter.

Gabe Black pulled WACO within 32-23 on a 12 yard touchdown run to start the second but Twin Cedars found the end zone twice more before the half to take a 46-23 lead into the locker room. Horak posted a pair of touchdowns right out of the break to bring the Warriors within 46-36. Twin Cedars responded with a 65 yard touchdown run, but Black answered with his second score, a nine yard touchdown run, and WACO trailed just 52-43 going to the final frame.

Black continued to run wild in the fourth, his third touchdown of the night pulled the Warriors within two at 52-50. Twin Cedars scored again to make it 58-50, Black scored a fourth time to bring WACO within 58-56 but the Sabers got a late insurance touchdown to seal the win.

The Sabers outgained WACO 428-420, but WACO won the ground game 386 yards to 240. The Warriors were plagued by four turnovers in the loss. Horak ended with 243 yards and three scores on 37 carries, Black had 139 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries. Wyatt Harbison was 4/11 for 34 yards an interception. With the loss WACO falls to 0-2 on the season. They will next be in action Friday when they travel to Tri-County.
