The State of Iowa is once again accepting applications from prospective high school students for the Legislative Page Program. According to State Representative Jarad Klein of District 78, the page program is a unique program, because not only do the students get to participate on the floor of the State House of Representatives, they also get insight on the workings of the government, and meetings with high-ranking officials. The program has two time frames students can apply for: part-of-session, or full-session. Klein says for some students the full-session is too much of a time commitment, while others want as much time in the program as they possibly can.

The duties of the pages in the program primarily have them working for the assembly as a whole, though some administrators, such as the speaker, majority, and minority leaders, get their own pages to work with. The deadline to apply for the 2017 program is Saturday, October 1st, and Klein encourages any student interested to reach out to him or any other representative for advice and recommendations.
