The first all-inclusive white-tailed deer hunting season begins tomorrow. The past two weeks have been the youth and disabled hunting seasons, but everyone else will get their chance with the kick off of bow hunting season. The longest of the hunting seasons, it runs from October 1st through December 2nd, and then again from December 19th through January 10th. Prospective hunters must purchase a license and deer tags before hunting, and the antlerless tags for Washington County are almost all gone. As of Thursday, there are 22 of the 750 antlerless tags left for the county.

In surrounding counties, tag quotas have been met in Iowa, Johnson, and Keokuk Counties. There are 540 tags left in Louisa County, 817 in Henry County, and 1,543 in Jefferson County. Licenses and tags can be purchased until the last day of the season. Shooting hours are every day starting 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset.
