Highway G38 is currently still closed at the bridge 12 miles west of Washington, but County Engineer Jacob Thorius believes the construction will be complete within the next two weeks. The project began in April, and Thorius said it’s progressed well and will be finished within their desired timetable. Currently the bridge itself is done, and completion of the project depends on the weather and the final tasks the contractors need to do. Right now they’re working on the guard rail, approaches, shoulders, and sealing on the decks. Thorius asks people to remain patient as they complete this and other projects before winter, and reminds people to exercise caution around construction areas.
