A majority of the turnovers forced by the No. 9 Washington Demon defense (4-1 overall) came against a pair of Southeast Conference foes. Through five games, the Demon defense has tallied 13 turnovers, seven fumble recoveries and six interceptions. Nine of the turnovers came in victories over Mount Pleasant (2-3 overall) and Fairfield (3-2 overall).

Washington tallied four turnovers in a 47-12 triumph over Mount Pleasant. Caleb Bex snatched two fumble recoveries. Jake Reighard came up with an interception, and Dalton Myers recorded his first varsity touchdown on an 80-yard interception return.

The Demons forced a season-high five turnovers in a 24-7 win over Fairfield. John Dillon came away with two turnovers, one interception and one fumble recovery. Bryce Sinn and Matt Reighard each recovered one fumble and Thomas Zimmer caught an interception.

Washington welcomes Southeast Conference member Keokuk (2-3 overall) to town Friday for the Demons’ annual homecoming game. The Demons turned the Chiefs over once last season in a 50-7 homecoming victory.
