Newfound confidence helped propel the Washington Demon volleyball team (2-15 overall) to their first conference win of the season Tuesday. The Demons welcomed the Keokuk Chiefs (1-16 overall) to Washington High School for a Southeast Conference match. Washington downed Keokuk in straight sets (25-8, 25-21, 25-12) to record their first league win.

Seniors Alexis Turner and Liv Postl tied for the team lead in kills with eight a piece. Kylee Porter led the team with 14 digs. Postl and Isabel Bailey each recorded three blocks.

The victory is the second win of the season for Washington. The Demons earned their initial victory over Mid-Prairie in the Hawks tournament last Saturday, beating the Golden Hawks in straight sets (21-19, 21-11) The Demons return to the court Tuesday, traveling to Mount Pleasant for a Southeast Conference match against the Panthers (14-11 overall). Washington lost the first meeting in straight sets (15-25, 14-25, 22-25) on September 6.
