Two candidates are on the ballot for Washington’s special Ward 2 City Council election and only 14 people have voted early so far. Merle Hagie and Steven Gault are seeking the position. The term will last until December 2017. The vacancy was created when councilman Russ Zieglowsky stepped down due to moving to a different ward within the city.

Residents of Ward 2, the northeast corner of town, can vote early in person at the auditor’s office or they can vote the day of the election at the Central Park Community Center. Polls will be open on election day, September 20th, from noon to 8 p.m.

Listen to KCII Wednesday (9/14) beginning at 6:30 p.m. for a live forum with Gault and Hagie and tune in the 20th to hear live results from the Washington County Courthouse beginning at 8 p.m.
