The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team hits the road tonight in class 2A district action to take on the Williamsburg Raiders.

Mid-Prairie enters the contest with a 2-3 overall record. Last week they blasted Camanche by a 61-14 score. The Golden Hawks scored the first 61 in a row and racked up 325 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground against the Indians. On the year the Golden Hawks are led through the air by Karson Gingerich who is 35 of 72 for 450 yards and three touchdowns. HIs favorite target is Levi Duwa who has 13 catches for 128 yards and two scores. On the ground Ricky Vargas leads the way with 559 yards and eight touchdowns on 72 carries.

Williamsburg comes into tonight’s game with an overall record of 4-1 and is ranked No. 11 in the state in class 2A in the latest poll from the Associated Press. They haven’t lost since falling to Fairfield in week one 25-22. Last week they rolled at Mediapolis 48-6. Gage Blythe was 12 of 16 through the air for 143 yards and a touchdown. Jason Wardenburg had 13 carries for 100 yards and a pair of scores. On the year the Raiders are led by Blythe who is 27 of 44 for 317 yards four touchdowns and no interceptions through the air. His favorite target is Justin Donohoe 14 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown. On the ground Gage Hazen-Fabor has 62 carries for 563 yards and eight touchdowns. The Raiders are the No.2 rushing team in the state with 1,460 yards on the year.

These two teams met a year ago at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman with both teams ranked in the top 10. Williamsburg took the game by a 25-0 score.
